Spring 2012 New Advocate Training Class to begin February 7th
CASA is now accepting applications for our Spring 2012 training class. If you would like to participate in our next training, please call our office ASAP. In January, we held our in-office interviews prior to training. CASA continually seeks dedicated volunteers who are willing to share their time and energy for the sake of children who are involved in the court system due to abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. If you would like more information on becoming a CASA, please contact our office at (618) 998-2291.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, CASA of Williamson County welcomed 12 new CASA Advocates who were sworn-in as officers of the court. They had completed training which had begun on Tues., October 4th. New CASA Advocate Training focuses on a variety of subjects important to become an effective advocate for a child to whom they are assigned. Along with the National CASA Curriculum, many expert speakers and topical videos are also utilized in training. Court observation is also a required part of the training. Every new CASA, except one, already has been assigned a case of a locally abused or neglected child(ren). Additional new volunteers are being sought to participate in the next New CASA Advocate training scheduled to begin February 7, 2012. Please call the CASA office if you are interested in becoming a local CASA advocate at 618-998-2291.
